STEADY’ -PROGRESS MAINTAINED.

BUILDING NEARING COMPLETION-

Steady progress is being maintained on the new Paeroa. Post And. Telegraph building. On Monday morning a start was made with laying the flooring on the upstairs portion :f the building. Before the flooring on this portion can be placed in position a covering of half-inch felt has to bo laid, to deaden the sound of footsteps in the downstairs part of .the building.

A small army of carpenters is also engaged erecting the many wall partitions upstairs. The plumbing work is also being pushed on apace. The whole of the guttering and downpipe work has been completed, and the system of heating the building by means of steam radiators is well under way. The plumbers are a,t the , present time installing the water system throughout the building. The electricians have also made a start with their work in both storeys. Tlie contractors, Messrs Robinson and Beagley, in an interview yesterday, stated that they expected to be sufficiently far advanced in about ten days’ time to remove all the outside scaffolding and have the building completed ready l for occupation within the specified time, which is near the end of March next.
