PLAINS RAINFALL.
A DRY DECEMBER.
LOW ANNUAL TOTAL.
The rainfall for the month of December as, recorded a,t, the Lands Department’s office at Kerepeehi totalled 1.22 inches, as compared with 522 inches for December of the previous year and 3.15 inches for the previous 13 years. In 1912 and in 1919 the total for December was, lower than that of last month, and except for April last there has not been a month with a lower'.fall since the beginning of 1921. There were nine days during December on which a fall, of ra,in was recorded at Kerepeehi—-the Ist, sth, 11th, 12th, 19th, 21st, 24,th, and 26th.
The total rainfall for the year was 37.64 inches, though rain fell on 165 days, being only five less than during the previous, year, when the total fall was 60.37 inches. The average yearly fall at Kerepeehi is 41.827 inches. The years 1913, 1914', 1919, and 1921 had less rain than did last year.
