HOME GARDENS.
PAEHOA SCHOOL COMPETITION. JUDGES MAKE AWARDS. The annual judging of the gardens cared for by the pupils attending the Paeroa District High School was undertaken on Monday by Messrs G. HJ. Taylor and E. G. Preston, of,the local high school st'a®. 7 - In all about 20 gardens were visited, and the judges speak in t§rms of Loud praise of some of the gardens, they were shown by the eager contestants. The .two best gardens were undoubtedly the vegetable gardens belonging to Masters Jack and Major Chamberlain, of Junction Road, who showed gardens that would be the envy of adult enthusiasts!. The prize-winners in the various classes were as follows:— ■ High School.—Jack Conolly and Joy Blyth, Standard Vl.—Robert Urry and Ruth Swann. Standard V.—Escott Verran.. Standard IV.—Jack SiTcock aSid Lola Buchanan. Standard lll.—Jack Oh'amberlain/ l Standard ll.—Major Chamberlain and Nancy Jones. Standard I.—Sydney Spihsbury. Certificates of Merit will be issuedby the Education Board to alj .who . received 70 per cent of possible marks. , . *
