WEIGHT COMPUTING.

HAURAKI SHOW COMPETITION.

The Weight-computing competition which was held in connection with the Hauraki A. and P. Association’s recent show at Paeroa was decided yesterday, when the be,as,ts were killed and formally weighed before two of the association’s, officials at the local abattoirs. Following are the results-: —

Three sheep, actual weight 248%1b. The correct weight was, given by Meissrs G. Death, Netherton, and A. Fl Vowles, Paeroa.

Fat bullock, actual weight 6181 b: Messsr J. Conoll-y> a.nd F. Kinsella- tied for first place with estimates of 6171 b. Fat pig, actual weight 102%lb: Messrs T. Welch and J. P. Findlay estimated 1021 b and Messrs. H. Valentine and G. M. Wilson 1031 b.

The prize awarded to the competitor who, entering for the three weight-computing competitions, in the opinion of the judges.-, should prove himisclf the best all-round judge of the weight of stock, was won by Mr T. Welch, Paeroa, who was 2%1b out in the sheep, %lb in the pig, and 81b in the bullock.
