Sprague), and the chief engineer (Mr N. G. McLeod). BREAKDOWN. IN SUPPLY! The district eelctrical engineer of • the Public Works Department wrote .. in connection with the breakdown in the -50,000-volt supply, stating thatthe matter had been taken up with the Grand Junction Cb., Waihi, prbpoß- r ing an arrangement for making the .standby supply available, but under, the circumstances it appeared to be •. difficult for ■the company to give any definite guarantee that it could carry out the agreement. The engineer reported that no fur-. ther trouble was anticipated. SUPPLY TO FACTORIES. The district electrical engineer, Public Works Department, Hamilton, . wrote advising that the supply of power to the Ngatea factory oii a three-party agreement would be agreed to for one year- The question of renewal, as regarded Ngatea and . all other'factories, would depend prin-- ■ cipally on the amount of benefit. to the board from diversity, and it would also depend on the amount of power . available. ' In answer to Mr Willy ?the chair- , man said thht the- agreement .would . , not affect the board so far as he could see. The factories; were only taking powter from the board because it could be obtained at a favourable price. The engineer explained that the power used by the dairy companies wap over and above the board’s peak ( , load. Mr Flatt said that the onus of sup.- 1 pliy was on the board, and the . partment was putting itself in a position to demand a higher rate for power. The chairman agreed that that appeared to be the position! LOAN OF £50,000. , ' . The Public Trustee advised that the investment board had- granted the board the loan of applied for, with interest at six per cent, plus a ■staking fund of one per cent, fbr a ? _ term of 20 years. The board would be required to iipply for an Order-in-Council authorising the terms of the loan. ~ ' ‘ ■ The necessary resolutions were passed, the chairman, remarking that the position was very satisfactory, and the despatch given to the .matter .by the Public Trustee was commehdablei . POWER STOPPAGES. The Norfolk Co-operative Daisy Cb. wrote drawing attention to the great inconvenience cabsed to supplier® when milking at different times recently through the power being cut off without any notice being given. . The chairman said' .the company had been advised that the matter had been taken up with the depart- . ment, and it was hoped that there would be a minimum of inconvenience < in the future. SILVER PINE POLES. A King Country sawmiller wrote.. offering to quote silver pine poles on: receipt of specifications from the* boardThe chairman said that the board! was not too happy with its hardwood! poles, and he did not think silver pine would give any greater satisfaction. It was decided that a poll for the raiding O f further loan moneys be placed before the ratepayers on the same 'day as the county council elections in May, 1926. The chairman explained that it was • p’reposed to compile statistics; up to I and including March 31, 1926, and also data, which would be fully explained to the ratepayers before they were asked to authorise a further’ loan. NEW CONSUMERS. On the motion of Mr Willy, second'--ed by Mr Flatt,’it was resolved that ’ the board .advertise in the newspapers circulating in the area notifying intending consumers that applications for power should be in the hands not later than January, 1926, if they wished to be reasonably mre of receiving power for ,the next-milking.’ ■ NGATEA TROUBLEMAN. ’ In reply to Mr Willy the manager" said that the troublemah’s house at Ngatea was not at present occupied by a married man.
