FORTHCOMING SHOW.

EVERY PROSPECT OF SUCCESS.

ALL ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED.

Favourable weather is; now' the only factor necessary to make the Hauraki A. and P. Association’s Show, which opens, at the Domain, Paeroa, on Thursday and will continue on Friday, a success -surpassing that of its predecessors. It would be strange if Paeroa, the centre of a rich district admirably suited for heavy production from the land, were hot able to d'range an exhibition of stock comparable in excellence with any to be gathered together in other districts of New Zealand. Happily, no reproach upon this score can be levelled against this district, and the' Hauraki A. and P. Association hap been able throughout its useful and progressive career to point with pride to a record of advance in conformity with the development of the district. As is, naturally to be expected in a district mainly utilised for dairying, the strongest representation is to be found in the classes devoted to milch cattle of the various breeds. Jerseys, particularly, have been entered in large numbers, and the various other breeds, are proportionately Well represented. In the sections devoted to that most necessary adjunct to the' farm, the horse, a very fine collection is assured, while the liberal prize-money offered by the association in the jumping events ensures the presence of large fields of equines which are devoted mainly to the purposes of sport in the form of hunting.

There will also be other attractions of a varied nature and well calculated to appeal to widely divergent tastes, thereby ensuring a period of interest and enjoyment to‘all who attend the annual fixture. No effort is being spared by the president, Mr W. J. Hall, the other horior.ary officials, and Mr E. Edwards, the capable and energetic secretary, and this year’s exhibition, it is confidently sfated, will in many respects eclipse its forerunners, meritorious though they have been. As previously suggested, good fortune in the matter of climatic conditions is alone necessary to ensure for the Hauraki A and P. Association’s, 27th Show the verdict of “the best ever.”
