ODDFELLOWSHIP.

LOYAL JUBILEE LODGE, PAEROA.

HALF-YEARLY INSTALLATION.

There was a large attendance of sisters and brethren of the Loyal, Jubilee Lodge, M.U., 1.q.0.F., at the lodge room, Paeroa, on Tuesday, when the half-yearly installation of officers was,’ carried out on the completion of the ordinary business. Bro. T. Wilkinson, N.G., presided, assisted by Bros. J. M. Fox, 1.P.M., and C. Townshend, V.G.The following principal officers were installed by Lecture-master Bro. W. T. Power, P.G., assisted by Bro. G. Fallon, P.G.: —

1.P.M., Bro T. M. Wilkinson ; N.G., Bro. C. Townshend; V.G., Bro. W. Smith ; E.S., Bro. K. Slyfleld. Bro. Power congratulated the bretnren on taking office, and counselled them ,to attend the meetings regularly and to do all in their power to assist Oddfellowship and promote the Friendly Society movement. Special tribute was, paid to the work of the outgoing brethren, and it was unanimously resolved that Bro. Wilkinson be granted a Past Grand’s diploma.

On returning thanks to the members, for the hearty support accorded him during his term of office Bro. Wilkinson said that it was very gratifying to see the rapid advance Oddfellowship was. making in Paeroa and district. During the last six months the Loyal Jubilee Lodge had made history for itself. Inter-lodge football matches had been arranged, permission had been granted to admit lady members, and the opportunity to join ■the lodge had been readily availed of by the fair sex ; and Loyal Jubilee had been the means, of opening a lodge at Netherton. In addition to the outstanding features mentioned the membership of the lodge had grown considerably. The social side of the work had been increased, and in that direction the sisters had rendered valuable assistance. In conclusion Bro. Wilkinson thanked the officers for the wholehearted support that had been acc&rded him, and expresjsed the hope that the incoming officers: would enjoy a happy and prosperous term of office.

The other newly installed brethren also returned thanks. MEMBERSHIP JEWEL. It was resolved to make application to the Grand Lodge for a membership jewel, to be presented, to Bro. Power in recognition of his having enrolled 20 financial members. . PRESENTATION. Eulogistic references were made by several members to the splendid work done by the’ Financial Secretary, Bfo. Walter North, P.G., to Whom, it w’ais said, much of the success achieved and the prosperity enjoyed by the lodge was due. It was unanimously resolved that Bro. North be voted a bonus as a slight recognition of the services rendered.
