NETHERTON. PRESBYTEIRIANI BAZAAR. On Friday last the members of the Netherton Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild held a successful sale of \vork in the Netherton . Hall. The principal organisation was in the capable hands of Mi's Dally, president* and Mrs C. Stembridge, secretary, and to them a large measure of the success is due. At the close of the function it was announced that the funds would benefit to the extent of over £7O as a, result of the sale of work. A word of credit is also due to the members of the guild who worked hard and enthusiastically for the benefit of the cause. The following were .the stalls and stall-holders:— Produce, Mesdames Death and A. Vowles; s.weets and ice-cream, Mrs S.tembridge and Misses Craig and Adam ; fruit salad and jellies, Misses L. Vowles and M. Goble; cakes, Mrs "Craig and Miss Whisker; fancy, Mesdames Adam and Potter; plain sewing, Mesdames McNeil and Crosbie ; br,an tubs, Mesdames C. A. Stembridge and Robinson; afternoon team, Mesdames Dally and Trotter. COOKING COMPETITION. Considerable interest was taken in the cooking ■ competition, and many and varied were the delectable edibles benched for the critical decision of the judge. The following were the results : — Seed cake, Mrs Crosbie 1, Mrs Olsen 2 • sponge sandwich, without butter, Mrs H. Dally 1, Ivy Trotter 2 ; sponge sandwich, with butter, Mrs Vercoe 1, Mrs Coldicutt 2 ; sponge » roll, Mrs Fraser 1, Mrs Coldicutt 2; gingerbread, Mrs W. Potter 1, Mrs Stembridge 2 ; fruit cake, Mrs Stembridge 1, Mrs doldicutt 2; • pikelets, Mrs Dally 1, Mrs W. Potter 2 ; shortbread, Mrs Coldicutt 1, Mrs Vercoe 2 ; scones. Mrs Death 1, Mrs Coldicutt 2. Mjs McNeil. won the nail-driving competition for ladies, and Mr T. Richmond that for the men. Mr R Morrison. w*on the hat-trimming competition for men.
