TIGER KILLS WOMAN.
RESULT OF FORQETFULNESS.
With red-hot pokers officials of the Bellevue Zoo, Manchester, scared away-'from Mrs Eliza Lambert the tiger which attacked and killed her ■ while she was cleaning out its cage* - The officials have .decided to continue to exhibit tfie tiger at .the zco, where Mrs Lambert was'head keeper of the lions and tigers. j . Mrs Lambert failed to close the door between the tiger’s detij and the cage. The coroner remarked at the inquest that she had been long accustomed to take this - precaution. It Was an instance of failure through the human element of forgetfulness.. An expert gave evidence that tigers could not be tamed. Trainers could take risks with lions or leopards, but never with tigers. ' f
