INTER-LODGE MATCH.
PAEROA DEFEATS TUAKAU.
Greater enthusiasm than shown by the Tuakau team in journeying to play in Paeroa last Saturday is not common. With the Plains route impracticable, the Tuakau Oddiellows Lodge team proceeded, via Hamilton, and arrived at the Paeroa Racecourse at about 3.15 pan.
The game'- versus Loyal Jubilee Lodge was even .throughout, and varying fortune kept the spectators keefily interested. Not devoid of a certain amount of humour, to which every player contributed, the friendly contest was enjoyed by all. Loyal, Jubilee emerged victors by six points to three, a goal by the Paeroa Captain, Ken, Dean, and a x «y by J. Verran, to an unconverted try by the visitors. With the Tuakau brethren and the Paeroa Rugby Union as guests the local tea,m and lodge spent a pleasant hour at the Criterion Hotel. Following the dinner and suitable speeches of welcome and fraternal greeting, the evening was left free to the visitors. G. Asher (the Tuakau captain and an ex-Paeroa representative) expressed thanks for the hospitality shown, and hoped that when a return match was played at Tuakau next season the tables would be turned. .The brotherly feeling permeating the whole proceedings went far to make the .trip a success. The Tuakau brethren returned home on Sunday morning.
