ENTERTAINMENTS.
TO-NIGHT. TENNIS CLUB’S SOCIAL. The first annua’, social and euchre tournament under the auspices of the Paeroa Lawn Tennis Club will be held in the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, this evening. A strong committee has arrangements completed to ensure a thoroughly good evening’s enjoyment. Valuable prizes have been provided for the winners of the euchre tournament, and a specially selected orchestra of eight instruments will provide the dance music.
TO-MORROW NIGHTS FUNCTION. PRESENTATIONS TO MISS SHAW. A reminder is given of the concert and presentations to be made to Miss Miinnie Shaw at the Gaiety Theatre to-morrow night. The first portion of the evening will, be devoted to concert items, the following programme having been arranged: Selection by the Paeroa Symphony Orchestra, “China girl after dark”; song, “Song of the Waggoner,” Rev. A. M. Costain; song, “Harlequin (Sanderson), Mr Ray Foster ; “Some Humour,” Mr Beech, of Thames; song, “What a wonderful world,” Mrs C. Topliss; Dutch dance, Miss Rae de Castro ; song, “The Call o’ the Wild,” Mr Wyn. Edwards ; recitation, “Yes, Papa,” Miss Inez de Castro; song, “I wonder if love is a dream (Dorothy Forster), Mrs P. HagueSmith ; - some more humour by Mr Beech ; selection, “Dreamy Melody all alone,” Symphony Dance Orchestra. The presentations will, then be made, one on behalf of the citizens, one from the old pupils of the Paeroa District High School, and one from parents.
