ELECTION NEWS.
' --MEETINGS'OF CANDIDATES. At Springdale last night Mi- A. M. Samuel held a very well attended when Mr F. W. Walters presided. The candidate spoke on similar lines to those at Hikutaia, and was well received. A number of questions were answered by the candidate, and at his request a vote of thanks only was passed. He suggested that their confidence would be more appreciated if shown at the polk \ A meeting of those interested in securing the return of Mr H. Poland as member of Ohinemuri was held in the Soldiers’ Club on Saturday evening last. There was a good attendance, and Mr Poland was present and gave a short; address. Those present, formed themselves into a committee, with Mr Arthur R. Robinson as chairman and Mr R. Thorp as secretary, and it was decided to meet regularly in Bain’s sample rooms, the first meeting taking place last night. , Mr H, Poland, M.P., will address the electors at Kerepeehi to-morrow (Thrusjday) night.
The Reform candidate, Mr A. M. Samuel, speaks in the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, to-morrow night.
