ENTERTAINMENTS.

GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. THE LOVE PIKER. “The Love Piker,” featuring Anita Stewart and with a n all star cast, including William Norris, Robert Fraser, Frederick Truesdell) and Arthur Hoyt, will be the main attraction to be screened tonight. The story deals with the regeneration of Hope Warner, a snobbish girl portrayed by Anita Stewart. A snobbish 'ami wealthy society girl falls in love wi.tii a self-made engineer. Everything runs along smoothly until the girl meets her fiancee’s father, who lives in a .shanty to a poor quarter of the town. The girl is at the point of breaking her engagement, but her soul undergoes regeneration. She goes to the tenement dwelling on her wedding day in a limousine and brings the old father of her fiancee to the ceremony. It is a story of intense heart-interest, with much relishable, comedy. TO-MORROW NIGHT. IDLE TONGUES. High up on top of San Juan Heights back of Laguna Beach, California, an entire village was built by Thomas H. Ince for the filming of his forthcoming First National picture, “Idle Tonnes.” This is an adaptation of Joseph C. Lincoln’s novel of Cape Cod life, “Dr. N'ye,” ,and rather than take a company of players to the Massachusets coast for the scenes, the producer brought the necessary parts of Cape Cod to California. Unusual measures were .taken to get .the proper effect of a village high above the sea, as the story demanded. Tons of earth were filled in, and otner tons levelled to get sufficient acreage for the town site. Roadsi were built and water and light plants installed. But the village probably had the shortest life of any in history. It was torn down three weeks after it was built, the exterior scenes having been completed. “Idle Tongues,” co-featuring Percy Marmont and Doris Kenyon, will be the principal attraction to be shown tomorrow night.
