MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD. RENTS FOR PLAYING AREAS. Following on the Borough Council meeting yesterday afternoon a meeting of the Domain Board was held, Mr W. Marshall presiding. USE OF BOWLING GREEN. The Paeroa Bowling Club asked to be advised pf the date the bowling green would be available for play, and what, would be the rental for the ensuing season. It was moved by Mr P. E. Brenan, seconded by the chairman, “That the conditions and fee for the ensuing year be in. terms- of the agreement made last season, which makes the fee £93 12s- 7d. In aayswer to Mr F. E. Flatt the chairman said that the sum mentioned represented the actual' cost of the maintenance of the green; Mr de Castro queried the charges for tools and the amount of the insurance premium on the pavilion. He contended that the charges were unduly high. , The chairman explained, that so fitr as the tools were concerned, if they were purchased solely for, use on the greens, then the bowling green had to stand the ■ cost of them, otherwise tools were only charged up proportionately. So. far ag. the insurance : was concerned/the premium' on the bowling pavilion and tennis pavilion was £4 18s, of which -the bowling green had to stand half cost. The resolution was then put and carried. ■ The question of fixing the date for opening the greens /was left in the hands of the domain superintendent In reply to Mr de Castr'o the chairman said that the broken windows, in the bowling pavilion yvbuld be replaced. Mr Flatt moved that the Domain Committee go into the question of painting and repairing the twp pavilions, and also consider the advisability of having them rejvalued for insurance purposes.. . Seconded by Mr de Castro and carried. . , OTHER RENTS. It was resolved that the rent to the Croquet Club for the ensuing season would be £2O. For the use of the tejanis courts the fee was fixed at £l6 -for the season for two courts or £8 far one court.
