TURUA TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The regular meeting of the Turua Town Board was held on Wednesday last, Mr J. Mules presiding over Messrs J. T. Davies, C. G. Williams, F. Olsen, J. H. Johnstone, and the clerk (Mr J. E. Green). ' The Works Committee reported that holes had been filled in Oparia Road, Waihou Street,, and Slaughter- * house Road. The chairman reported that a meeting had been held concerning the town hall proposal as decided upon by the obard, and a scheme of financing the project had been devised. This would be laid before a public meeting on Wednesday next. NEW WORK. As the banks of the drain were falling away, and the bridge at the school footpath was in danger, the board decided that the drain be piped. The Drainage Board would supply the pipes, and it was left totheWorkjs Committee tot have the work done as soon as possible. - It was resolved that the Works Committee inspect the kerbing and channelling contract work and arrange for the removal of the spoil and the grading of the water-table; also the provision of a concrete sump at the outlet pipe to catch the refuse and prevent blockages. ■
