ACCIDENT.
MAN FOUND UNCONSCIOUS. REMOVED TO WAIHI HOSPITAL. A serious accident betel Mr JamesO’Brien, of Mackaytpwn, while returning home from work at Owharoa yesterday afternoon on horseback. Fram what can be ascertained, a traveller in a two-seater motor-car while coming into Paeroa saw the unfortunate man lying on the road with a broken leg and a bad wound on his forehead, and unconscious. Being tinable to lift the ihau into his ear he waited until further assistance came. Shortly afterwards Mr L. C. Cane approached, and placing the man in his car they took him to the Waihi Hospital. The injured man is a blacksmith, and its employed by the Rising Sun Gold Mining Co., Ltd. On making inquiries from the hospital this morning it was learned that O’Brien received cuts about the face and a dislocated hip, and is in a serious condition. He has regained consciousness, and shows- a slight improvement. It is not yet known how the accident occurred.
