FOUND DEAD.
NGATEA FISH DEALER. A Ngatea fish and vegetable dealer, Mr D. J. Fitzgerald, aged about fifty years, was found dead in his hut yesterday. Deceased had been ill for Borne time and had consulted a doctor, who had advised two or three months rest, and for this purpose he had intended proceeding tp the Auckland Hospital last week, but did not go. It was his intention to go this week. During his illness Mr Manktelow had been doing his round, and, not noticing him about yesterday when about to start out, called at the hut occupied by deceased and found him lying on the floor dead. He had evidently fallen when washing the, dishes used at breakfast. It is not known if deceased had any relatives. Apparently he had been a hawker for some time in the King Country, and before coming to Ngatea some eighteen months ago, had been at Kopu. There was nothing among his personal belongings to give any trace of his relatives. In view of the fact that it-was. known that deceased was suffering from a weak heart', an inquest was not considered by the coroner to be necessary.
