HOCKEY.
PAEROA DEFEATS THAMES. The Hula (Thanieq) ladies’ hockey team visited Paeroa on Saturday afternoon and played a return match against the local team. Although the visitors were two players short, the game was decidedly interesting,. The home team showed a decided improvement on previous games, and at times combination was really good. , Shortly before half-time Miss. F. Gordon shot a good goal for tiie visitors. In the second half the home team attacked strongly throughout the Quarter, and the game ended, Paeroa 2, Thames 1. For the home team goals were shot by Misses L. McKee and N. Morland. The local team entertained the visitons to dinner at the Criterion Hotel aftei' the match. Mr F. Pivott was referee.
