WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports: Beef:— There hps been a sharp rise for all classes, prime ox making from 375. 6d. to £2, and prime cow, 345. to 365., and we are still likely to see higher prices. Fat sheep :— The market is inclined to harden, but the rise has been very small in comparison with the rise in beef. Store sheep :— Prices continue firm for all classes with a good inquiry. Store cattle:— There is a big enquiry for all classes, and prices have taken a big jump, due no doubt to the shortage of cattle offering, grown and store steers being much sought after ; also a good demand for empty heifers, store cows, and breeding cows. Dairy cattle :— A good demand exists for good herds close to profit; also good springing heifers are making good money with a prospect of getting dearer as soon as the teed comes away. Pigs :— Fat pigs and porkers are very firm, not sufficient coming forward to satisfy the demand, making from 7d to 8d per lb. Stores are coming forward in big numbers and making good prices Horses. —Still a good demand for heavy and useful farm sorts, with the light class dull of sale.

We quote.—Bullocns, prime heavy £l6 te £l7 10s, medium £ll to £l2 10s; cows, prime £lO 10s to £l2, medium £6 10s to £B, unfinished £5 to £5 10s, stores £3 10s to £4 ; steers, forward 4-year £7 10s to £8 ss, 3%-year stores £6 15s to £7 ss, good 2%-year £5 15s to £6 ss, others £3 10s to £4 10s. Wethers, prime heavy, shorn, £2 2s to £2 4s, medium 38s to £2 ; ewep, prime heavy, shorn, 34s> to 365, light 28s to 30s; store wethers, shorn 4-tooth 33s to 345, 2-tooth 31s to 325. Hoggets, fat 30s to 335, best stores 26s to 275, others 22te to 23s ; ewes, 4 and 5-year, in lamb, 38s to 2s. 2d, sound mouth 34s to 365. Pigs: Baconers, prime £4 to £4 10s, medium £3 15s to £3 18s; porkers £3 3s to £3 10s; slips 30s to 355; weaners 18s to 225. Horses: Heavy draughts £5O to £6O, medium £35 to £3B ; spring cart sorts £22 to £3O ; harness horses £8 to £lO ; hacks £8 to £ll.
