HOCKEY.
The Paeroa Ladies’ Hockey Club played a scratch match on Saturday afternoon, and the club is- now in a position to. put two full teams in the field. Misses Kenny and Coote were present and coached the teams with very satisfactory results. These ladies have expressed the opinion that the club has splendid materia 1 available, and with practice and coaching the A team should be able to give a good account of itself. In all probability a local team will play a return match with Thames at the Racecourse, Paeroa, on Saturday next. Arrangements are also being made for a ladies’ team from Ngatea to play at Paeroa, probably on Saturday, August 1.
