WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports: Beef. —There is an improvement in the price of both ox and cow beef, with every prospect of a, further rise, prime ox making up to 34s and good cow up to 28s. Fat Sheep.—There is practically no rise since our last report, sufficient coming forward to meet the local demand. Store Sheep.—A good inquiry exists for all classes of stores, ewes in lamb, hoggets, and wethers finding ready tsale at high prices. Store Cattle.' —There is a big inquiry for all classes of stores, young steers and grown steers being much sought after, with few offering; also a good demand for store cows and empty heifers. - Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy herds and well-grown forward springing heifers are in demand and finding ready sale at good money, with little demand for backward and inferior sorts. Pigs.—The market very firm for both fats anti stores, porkers and baconers • making up to 7%d, and a keen demand for weaners, slips, and good stores. Horses;—Good - heavy draughts and useful farm sorts are making good money, with little competition for the light classes. We quote: Bullocks, prime heavy £l2 10s to £l3 10s, medium £lO 10s. to £11; coms, prime £8 10s to £lO,. medium £6 10s to £7 10s, unfinished £4 to £4 10s, stores £3 to £3 10s; steers, forward 4-year £7 10s to £B, 3%-year stores £6 15s to £7,- good 2%-year £5 5s to £5 10s, others £2 10s to £3 10s,; good 18-inonth £3 iOs to-£4 ss, medium £2 to £2 10s; good dairy herds £lO life to £l4 ; choice springing Jersey heifers £ll 10s to £l2 12s ; :good springers £9 to £lO 10s. Sheep: ■Wethers, prime heavy, shorn, £2 to X2 3s, medium 38s to 39s ; ewes, prime heavy, shorn, 32s tq 35&, light 28s to 30s ; store' wethers, shorn 4-tooth 32s 6d to 345, shorn 2-tooth 31s to 32s ; hoggets, good woolly 26s to 28s 6d, shorn 24s to 26s 6d, small 21s to 23s 6d e.Wes, 4,6, anil 8-tooth, in lamb, 38q to £2, 5-year, in lamb,-35s to 37s 6d, sound mouth 32s to 345; fat lambs, 28s to 31s; 2-tooth ewes, in lamb, £2 to £2 2s. Pigs: Prime baccners £4 to £4 ss, medium £3 15s to £3 18s; porkers £2 15s to £3 3s ; slip--30s to £2 ; weaners 25s to 28s.
