LOCAL RAINFALL.
AVERAGE FOR SIX MONTHS. BELOW LAST YEAR’S FIGURES. The total rainfall locally for the six months of this year is very much less than that of the corresponding period of last year. From data supplied by the Paeroa office of the Public Works Department it has been recorded that the total rainfall to the end of June thiis year was 16.41 inches, compared with 40.65 inches for the first six months in 1924. The total rainfall for last mouth was 4.21 inches. There were 11 days on which rain fell ini June, the heaviest fall being on the 25th, when 1.61 inches were registered. In June, 1924, the total rainfall was 4.11 inches, distributed over 13 days. The prevailing winds for the six months this year have ben sou’-sou’-west and west.
