DOINGS’OF THE MONTK ENGINEER’S REPORT. Mr F. Basham, the county engineer, reported to the Hauraki Plains County Council at its meeting onl Tuesday as fellows :— “Continuous wet weather during the past month lias hampered all road work. “General maintenance has been carried out in all ridings. I have made arrangement's with Mr A. W- Bryant for the supply of .maintenance metal at the following landings: Pipiroa, Kopuarahi, Ngatea, and Kerepeehi, 150 yards at each place at 17s 6d per yard. Red metal is also being landed by McCallum.
“Machinery Shed. —The road into tlie shed has been metalled, and shingle for the concrete floor has been landed. Concreting will be (started iiext week.
“Hikutaia Quarry.—A start has been made on the tramway from tlie quarry to the crusher. The tramway from the crusher site to the creek has been levelled and grades prepared. Owing to objections being raised in Hikutaia to the crusher being at the creek I decided to erect it on the quarry site.
“Turua-'Nethcrton,. — K start has been made on the work of scarifying and grading this road from Carter’s corner to Ncthertoh. but the work has been stopped by wet weather. It is probable that it will bo' abandoned until next spring.”
