GAIETY THEATRE PICTURES. TO-NIGHT “THE MORAL SINNER.” Montmartre, home of the apaches and the most interesting section of Paris, is the background for Dorothy Dalton’s newest Paramount picture, “The Moral Sinner,” which fe to be shown to-night. The story, a fastmoving crook drama, is an adaptation of the stage success, “Leah Klesehria,” by Charles McLellan.. It has to do with the regeneration of a clever girl crook (Dorothy Dalton), who falls in love with a young student of criminology, who rescued her from a fire at a colourful charity ball, where she had gone with her father, a notorious criminal, to steal whatever money. might be taken in. It is through Paul Sylvain, played by James Rennie, that the girl renounces her life of crime and goes to a little village in Normandy to begin life anew. SATURDAY NIGHT, “THE SONG OF LOVE.” In her latest picture, “The Song of Love,” which is to be ishown to-mor-row night, Norma Talmadge makes her bow to the world as a dancing girl. "The Song of Love” is the drama of a dancing girl of Africa, a fascinating romance in which a beautiful Mohammedan dancing girl braves death to save her French lover from the fierce Tuarey lords. Norma Will be seen in a drama of mad loves, fierce hates, and the clash of steel on the desert sands. A splendid supporting programme will also be shown, including a Jimmy Adams comedy. BOXING CARNIVAL. TUESDAY, JUNE 16. Arraugemuts are well in hand for the holding of a Grand Boxing Carnival (under the auspices of the Waihi Boxing Association) in- the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, on Tuesday, June 16. Patrons will have the opportunity of seeing Vedder v. Dunstan in a heavyweight championship contest, and W. Collodge v. Batt. Nelson in a lightweight bout. Colledge has recently received two decisions over Smith, the North Island light-weight champion. A local senior - cadet championship has also been arranged,-and several local boys will be seen in action for the first time. Special ring arrangements are being made, and the stage will provide accommodation for a large number who are keen to obtain a “close-up” view.
Local sportsmen have interested themselves in the project, and some of the trophies that have been donated will be on view in Mr McWatters’ window during the week.
