OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL. ( R W. F JOHNSTONE ELECTED. At me annual meeting of '.he Ohim;muri Count’ Council, held at Paerxi this morning, the chairman (Cr. A. R. Roriinjon) intimated that lie did nut uesire to seek re-election to the oiii'.e. Or. Die motion of Cr. S. H. Morgan, weo’ided by Cr. H. M. Corbett, Cr. W. F Johnstone was elected to ,'he pooitii•«;, .there being no other nominations. Cr. Johnstone thanked the members for t.ie honour conferred on !.-ini, and said that he would do his best for cue bettennent of the county. He asked for ti'c help and co-operation of the councillors. McGuire, seconded by the chairman a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Gr. A. R. Robinson, and it wa-s resolved to record the appreciation of the services rendered by him to tie county during bi.s term as chairman. HAURAKI plains county. CR. J. C. MILLER RE-ELECTED. At rhe annual meeting of liie Hau raki Plains County Corneil to-day the retiring chairman, Cr. J. C. Miller, was 'diianncously re-elected chairman for the ensuing term on the motion oi Cr. T.
