FOOTBALL.
PAEHOA RUGBY UNION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the Paeroa Rugby Union Committee was held in Bain’s Rooms on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr J. W. T. Jones presiding. The resignation of Mr C. T. Mettam was received with regret, and Mr R. Hodson was appointed to till tne vacancy. On the motion of the chairman the meeting adjourned for a few moments as a mark of respect to the late Prims Minister. REGISTRATIONS. The following registrations were approved:— West Club: Seniors, W. Piercey juniors, J. Robinson, R. Day, C. Wells, third-grade, Kahu, Nahai. East Club • juniors. H. Mitcheil, W. R. Parker, W. O'Gi'.ady. . Netherton Club : Seniors, B. Johnson; juniors, Robinson, A. McCollum, C. Williams, M. Daley. W. Richmond was regraded from a senior to a junior status in the Netherton Club. BIRCH CUP. In reply to a request from the Thames Rugby Union it was decided not to take part in the competitions for the Birch Cup owing to the local fixtures being* sufficient. REFEREE’S REPORT. Mr J. D. Crawford, referee in the East v. Suburbs match at Paeroa on Saturday last, reported having cautioned J. Patterson (Suburbs) and RMitchell (East) during the game. The action of the referee was endoised. and it was resolved to write to the players concerned and advise them that rough play would not be tolerated. COLOURS. It was resolved that players in all matches shall play in their registered club colours only. Any breach in that respect would in future be drastically dealt with. TIME OF STARTING. It was resolved that any team failing to take the field within ten minutes of the advertised time of starting the match would be liable to forfeit the game without further notice. DRESSING SHED.Mr W. Pennell, was deputed to confer with the Jockey Club with a view to arranging suitable dressing accommodation in the grandstand. JUNIOR MATCH WITH THAMES. The application of the East Club for permission for its junior team to play a match against Physical Training School juniors, Thames, at Paeroa on Saturday next was granted. Mr T. Welch was appointed manager of the local teanT FIRST-AID APPLIANCES. The appointment of Mr W. T, Power as first-aid attendant at the local matches was . endorsed, and he was authorised to purchase such bandages and first-aid appliances as he considered necessary. N.Z. UNION RULES. The secretary was authorised to obtain two dozen copies of the 1924-25 rules of the N.Z. Rugby Union. COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS. it was decided to issue complimentary tickets to supporters for all fixtures'during the season on receipt of one guinea. Supporters contributing 10s 6d will be issued tickets entitling them to attend union fixtures only. CHARGES OF ADMISSION. It was resolved that for all union lixrur.es ladies would be admitted free and men charged is. JUNIOR REP. COMPETITION. It w.ais decided that it be a recommendation to.the Thames Valley Rugby Union that the. junior representatives play two rounds for the Sharebrokers’ Cup instead of a knock-out round as previously played. FIXTURES. The following fixtures were made for Saturday next:— Seniors —East v. West, at Paeroa, 3 p.m.,; Suburbs v. Netherton, at Netherton, 3 p.m. Juniors.—West v. Netherton, at Paeroa, 2 p.m.; Suburbs v. Karangahake, 2 p.m.; East a bye. Third-grade.—East v. West, at Paeroa, 1 p.m.
