VALEDICTORY.

POT-UIAB POSTAL OFFICIAL.

PRESENTATIONS AT NGATEA. Mr J. M. Robb, who for the last twenty months has. been postmaster’ at Ngatea, and who recently received notice of transfer to Huntly, was the guest of the people at a social function held in the Ngatea Public Hall on Monday, evening, and was presented witli a ' fine travelling rug and a cheque.

Mr J. N. Anderson made the presentation and referred to the tinct sense of loss that the district would feel through Mr Robb's departure. Though greatly hampered by the diminutiveness'of the office, he ha.i carried out his duties in a splendid maimer and had earned the hearcfelc appreciation of the people of the district for his efficient and obliging manner. On behalf of the guest s many friends and acquaintances Mr Anderson wished him every success in his new sphere of activity and trusted that he would fall in pleasant places and be long spared to enjoy tho respect and goodwill of the., people he was among. Mr Robb feelingly responded, stating .that he would always look back upon Ngatea with pleasant memories. He had tried to give satisfaction, and the people had helped him.
