CHURCH OF ENGLAND.

PARISH OF HAURAKI PLAINS. ANNUAL VESTRY MEETING. The annual vestry meeting of the Parish of Hauraki Plains was held at. Turua bn Th.ur.sday evening, the vicar, the Rev. J. M. Beaufort, presiding over a fair attendance. The church wardens report • stated that the finances were in a satisfactory condition, there being a. credit balance of £283 6s 4d. The debt on the Turua church had been reduced from £470 to £250. It was hoped that the erection of a church at Kerepeehi would commence next month. The Waitakaruru district had purchased a church site, Ngatea and Kopuarahi districts were negotiating for sections, and Kaihere had sufficient funds in hand to secure a site. During the year there had been 67 baptisms, 3 marriages, 68 confirmations, and 1023 receptions of communion.

Officers elected, for the year were Vicar’s warden, Mr F. U. Bell; people's warden, Mr G. H. White ; vestry, Messns F. H. Stephens, C. Scott, F. 0. Robinson. A. H. Sutton, and- A.- J. Heiiseman; .

Votes of thanks to church helpers concluded the meeting.
