MR. MASSEY'S ILLNESS.
CONDITION OF PRIME MINISTER.
NO IMPROVEMENT SHOWN.
The following official bulletin was issued at noon to-day:— "There is no improvement in the Prime Minister’s condition."
The Hauraki Plains County Council at its meeting yesterday passed a vote of sympathy with the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Magscy.
At Wednesday’s meeting of the Thames Hospital Board a unanimous resolution of sincere sympathy with the Prime Minister in life severe illness was passed, and hopes were expressed for his speedy and permanent recovery.
Before commencing business at last night’s meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) moved that the Council despatch a letter to Mrs W. F. Massey conveying the Council's deepest sympathy with her and her family in the severe illness of the Prime Minister, and expressing the wish that Mr Mapsey would rally and be speedily restored to health. The Mayor added that it was very sad that a man who had lived such a strenuous and straightforward life spent in the interests of the people of New Zealand should be laid low by. a severe illness before he had time for a well deserved rest from his labouro. The motion was carried in silence, the members standing.
