OPENING OF SEASON.

DAY ON PAEROA LINKS. Beautiful weather prevailed for the official opening qf the Paeroa golf season, which took place on the links at. the racecourse on Saturday afternoon. There was a good attendance of local players, and a number of townspeople were present. After welcoming the visitors in a few appropriate remarks the president (Dr. G. T. Smith, officially declared the links open for the 1925 season. The first ball wais then driven off the number one tee by Mrs Smith amid hearty applause. The afternoon was devoted to a mixed foursome over a course of 12 holes, and the players expressed satisfaction with the condition of the Jinks, which were in splendid playing order, although the greens were inclined to be a little too .fast. During the afternoon afternoon tea was served by the lady members. The best card handed in for the afternoon was that of Mists Adlam and Bray, 50.
