KIRIKIRI BRIDGE.
THAMES COUNTY AGREEABLE. BOROUGH ACCEPTS SHARE. a letter was received from the H«n. Minister for Public. Works supplying particulars of the cost of construction of the Kirikiri Bridge and the local bodies’ share thereof, and was considered at an extraordinary meeting of the Thames County Council on March 26.
The share of the Thames County towards the bridge was given as £6OOO, and that of the Thames Borough and the Hauraki Plains County £12,000 each.
The Thames County Council agreed to the conditions, and resolved to confer with the other local bodies in regard to raising a loan for the purpose, the chairman (Mr H. Lowe) being appointed to represent the council.
On the motion of Cr. Cribb, seconded by the chairman, it was resolved that the rating area for the £6OOO loan be and include the whole of the County of Thames.
The Thames Borough Council also received a copy of the communication and agreed to the conditions.
Messrs A. and G. Price, Ltd., of Thames, offered to lend the Borough Council £12,000, its share, and this offer was accepted. -
Thei matter will come before the Hauraki Plains County Council at its next meeting.
