This reverse stimulated the home team, and within a very ■short time J. O’Brien, after a spectacular run. succeeded in crossing the line, a try which he converted. The play during the remainder of the match was very even. B. Hardman scored a try for Karangahake, which was unconverted, while Jack Rackham also crossed thd line. Hardman converting. These were the only points scored, the game ending Karangahake 13, West 3. Mr E. Smith was the referee. Next Saturday the return match between Waikino and Karangahake will be played at Waikino. VALEDICTORY. On Saturday evening a complimentary social was tendered to Mr. and Mrs T. Curran in the Karangahake Holl on the eve of their departure for Ireland.
