— WAITAKARUBU. FOOTBALL. The annual general meeting of the Waitakaruru Football Club was held in the hall on Monday evening last, the president (Mr C. A. Hay Ward) presiding over a large and enthusiastic gathering of some .35 members and supporters.

The balance-sheet showed a. small liability.

The president congratulated the club on again winning the competition cup. and he. hoped one and all would do their utmost in the interests of the club for the ensuing season..

Mnetion was made of a ground, and owing to the state of the domain advantage was taken of Mr A. McClean’s offer of hiis paddock for the, season. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows,: Patron, Mr W. Stretton ; president, Mr Alex H. McClean ; secretary and. treasurer, Mr S. H. Kendall.; club captain, Mr C. Stretton ; senior selector, Mr C. A. Hayward ; junior selector, Mr J, McPherson ; gatekeepers, Messrs. E. Burling and W. Stretton; timekeeper-. Messrs G. Crockford and T. W. Elliott; Auditor', Mr T. W. Elliott : manageme.nt committee, Messrs C. C. Clark, R. A. Otter, L, Hunt, G. L. Griffiths, the president-, and the secretary ; social committee, Messrs A. Craig, A. Jarman, L. Williams, W, Quintal, L. Hunt, N. C. Jones ; delegates to Hauraki Plains Rugby Union, Messrs A, McClean and S- H. Kendall. Ten new members were elected, am' all the vice-presidents were unanimously re-electe,d.

?4embership fees were fixed ,at 7s Sd ior (seniors and 5s for juniors. A very enjoyable dance was organ-: ised on behalf of the club by an energetic committee consisting of Messrs Craig, Jarman, Williams, Clark, McPherson, and Kendall, Mr Manning and ihs jazz band supplying the music. As it proved a success, both socially and financially,.it was decided to hold a similar function, on the 25th inst.

A working bee wan held in Mr A. McClean's paddock last Satruday to prepare the ground, and it was well attended by members and supporters.

The secretary reported that a te,am from Whakatcw'ai (New Brighton) was desirous of playing a game with the club team, and as players were anxious for practice and the roads were in good order for motor traffic a match was arranged to be played, at New Brighton on Saturday, 28 th inst.
