MEETING OF NGATEA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Ngatea branch of the New Zealand .Farmere’ Union .was held on Monday evening. •Mr J. Bratlie presiding over" Messrs J. Foote, -Rowlings, Spence, C. AV. . Schultz, A. J. Darlington, Cleaver, G. Phillips, C. McTaggart, G. T. Davidson. S-. Phelps, and E. Martin (secretary). CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MOTION. ■" After a great deal of discussion; on the action of the Hauraki Plains Chamber of Commerce in passing a motion endorsing the expression of opinion of its farmer members that it was .in the best interests of the farming community to support the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Company, and on. the subject introducing the matter it was decided, against some opposition', “That, this meeting of the Ngatea Farmers’ Union views with astonishment the resolution passed by the • Hauraki Plains Chamber of . Commerce 'criticising the Farmers' Union’s domestic affairs. Surely this is directly against all principles of co-operation, which should be the fuhadmentai watch-word for a happy and harmonious co-operation between the two bodies right throughout the Dominion.’’ AMALGAMATED SALES. Mr Cleaver moved that the union •- support the chamber of commerce rejt. solution, regarding the request for an amalgamation of the stock sales held by the various auctioneering firms. Seconded by Mr Bratlie and carried. CONTROL OF DAIRY PRODUCE. The provincial secretary forwarded a copy of a resolution approved by the Provincial Executive supporting the< Dairy Export Control Boards decision to introduce absolute control, and? calling upon the Government to pass the necessary Orders-in-Council so that the decision may come, into force. It was decided to endorse the resolution and forward a copy to the Hon. . 'Minister in charge of the matter. * . BANKING FACILITtIES. The action of the Chamber of Commerce in seeking to get better banking facilities for Ngatea was discussed. and it was decided that the wecretary write to the chamber offering the support of the union and urging it to further exertions.in the matter.
