TURUA TOWN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Turua Town Board was held on Wednesday evening, the chairman, Mr J. Mules, presiding over the following: Messrs C.-Scott, J. T. Davies, J. McConnell, S.'G. Williams, F. Olsen, and J. E. Green (clerk). NON-CONSUMERS’ RATE. A request by the Paeroa Chamber of Commerce for support for various resolution of that body relative to tho non-consumes’ rate levied by tho Thames Valley Electric Power Board was agreed to. STREET LIGHTING. There being a big deficit in the street lighting account, which is handled by the board on behalf of tho townspeople, it was decided to circulate subscription lists. ' CHURCH ROAD WATER-TABLE. A.letter from the Vicar of Hauraki Plains relative to the [state of the water-tabic on the road leading tr the church was received, but in view of the financial state of the board consideration was deferred. DOG 'TAX. The appointment of a dog tax collector was decided on, PIAKO ROAD. It. was resolved Jx> call public tenders for the laying down of the 66 chains of Piako Road within the board’s area as a bituminous bound road.
