GAIETY THEATRE PICTURE&
TO-NIGHT “ MAYTIME." For a story of exquisite charm told against an encnantingly beautiful background the screen has seldom equalled the Master picture “Maytime,” which is to be shown to-night. It tells a love story at once plaintive and dramatic. It carries the spectator oack to the good old days. We see the homestead presided over by Colonel Van Zandt, a gentleman rich and of respected lineage, who feels that disgrace hajs fallen upon his house when he discovers his daughter Ottilie in love with Dick Wayne, the young gardener on the place, while he has already made his choice for her in the person of, Claude, her wealthy but dissolute cousin. Ethel Shannon and Harrison Ford have the leading roles. Also a picture of memorable AU Blacks v. Wales football match will f be screened. ODDFELLOWS BALL. Arrangements are well in hand for the holding of the Oddfellows second annual plain and fancy dross ball at the Gaiety Theatre, Paeroa, on-Mon-day, May 11, 1925. The Morrinsville Elite Jazz Band has been engaged, and a specially sumptuous supper is being .provided. Handsome prizes are offered for ladies and gentlemen for best .fancy dress, most original, and most humorous. The prices of admission have been fixed at a low scale, considering that the committee is aiming at making the ball the leading event okthe season in Paeroa.
