GATHERING AT TURUA. REV. D. C. AND MRS STEWART. On Thursday evening last a representative gathering assembled in the Presbyterian Church, Turua, to say farewell to the Rev. D. C. and Mrs Stewart. The Moderator of the Lresbytery (the Rev. Morgan) presided, ,and spoke of the progress which had been made during the time of Mr Stewart';: residence in the district. He wished for him further opportunities of service crowned with the blessing oi : God.
The vicar, the Rev. J. M. Beaufort, M.A., and the Rev. P. Hugh-Brooker also spoke.
In making the presentation Mr C. Miller referred to Mr Stewart-as an old friend, and said that there would be many friends in Turua who would follow the future work of both Mr and Mrs Stewart with prayerful interest. Ou behalf of friends in all parts of th«' district he asked them to accept a wallet containing a substantial number of bank-notes.
Mr Stewart very feelingly replied. Musical items were interspersed with the speeches, while a dainty supper, served by the ladies, brought a very successful evening to a close.
