OBITUARY.
MRS- ELIZABETH SARAH SMITH. Another of the pioneers of the district passed away on March 7 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs T. Johnson, in the person of Mrs Elizabeth Sarah Smith, at the advanced age of 94 years. The deceased was born in Penzance, England, and came out to the Dominion with her parents at tiie age of 12 years, and married three years later. The deceased and her husband first lived at Turua, but afterwards removed to Netherton, where she resided until her decease. Her husband predeceased her 45 years ago. The family originally consisted of seven daughters and two sons, but only four daughters and one son are now living, namely, Mrs T. Johnson, Netherton ; Mrs W. Dennerly, Auckland ; Mrs D. Adamson, Thames; and r Mr. George Smith, Thames. There are 61 grandchildren, 156 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren ; in all, tw’o hundred and thirty descendants. ‘ The remains of the late Mrs Smith were interred beside those cf her husband at Thames “on March 8
