SCHOOL AT WAITAWHETA
VISIT OF ADVISORY INSPECTOR. r ■ ' PUBLIC HALL TO BE USED. Yesterday Mr D. W. Dunlop, advisory inspector for the Auckland Education Board, accompanied by Mr H. Poland, M.P., visited Waitawheta for the purpose of meeting the settlers and discussing the question of pro r viding a school. A large number of settlers were present, and Messrs Mason and Harris placed the needs of the district before Mr Dunlop. After hearing the views of . the settlers, Mr Dunlop agreed to recommend the Education Board, to provide a teacher and the necessary school furniture on condition that the settlers were prepared to line the public hall and agree to its use as a schoolroom. This was unanimously agreed to by those present. A permanent building wi’l be applied for later on.
