PAEROA CLUB MATCHES, SATURDAY’S RESULTS. On Saturday afternoon an enjoyable inter-club match was played at Paeroa between members of the local club and a team representing the Netherton club. ' The weather was fine, but the high, wind which prevailed was rather unpleasant, and made the placing of balls in the courts .with any degree of accuracy a difficult matter, which tested the skill of the players to the utmost. Full sets were played, the result being the defeat of .the visitorsby 45 points. Following are the scores, Paeroa players being mentioned first in each instance :— Men’s Singles: Penlington beat Carter, 9 —7; Hamilton beat Rice, 9—B •; Southby beat Maloney, 9 —5 ; . Leach v. Ladies’ Doubles: Misses Taylor and Ellis beat Mesdames Matthews and Maud, 7—3 ; Mesdames Halliday and O’Neill beat Mrs Maud and Miss Halligan, 7—2; Misses J. Thorp and Argali lost to Misses F. Halligan and Matthews, 6—7. Totals : Paeroa 1'23, Netherton 78. Time did not permit of combined doubles being pl.ayed. \ PAEROA V. HIKUTAIA.
