DOMAIN BOARD.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The regular meeting of the Paeroa Domain Board was’held on Thursday evening last, the chair,mail, Mr W. Marshall, presiding over Messrs T. P. Vuglar, H. M. Shand, G. P. Lamb, F. E. Flatt, P. E. Brenan, W. Bain, E. Edwards, aud the clerk, W. C. Alexander. SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT. The domain superintendent, Mr W. Hamilton, stated his report that during the month life time had been taken up keeping the greens and paths in order. . The present Weather had made watering a’ necessity, the carrying out of .which took up a lot o, time, and as a consequence the work of hedge-trimming, etc., hhd got somewhat behind. The permission of the board was sought to engage a man for a few days’ to assist with tjie work. "During tlje quarter ending - December 31, 1924, 246 hours had been spent on work on the bowling green, 73 hours on the croquet lawn, 4y 2 hours on the tennis courte, and 218 y hours on general work. The report was received, the request for assistance being referred .to the domain committee. CUTTING OF HAY. It was agreed that the cutting of the hay in the domain should be done this year with a mower, and it was decided to hire a horse for the purpose, and that the hay be reserved for the use of the council. TENNIS COURTS. Mr Flatt asked if it was possible to ascertain what revenue wae being received from the tennis courts this season. The chairman stated that no revenue had so far been received other than the yearly rental from the Methodist .Church club for the one court. He thought It was a pity tliat the board had not seen fit to grant the application to lease the second court.
