CONTINUED ON SATURDAY. , The various local bowling competitition has now reached an interesting The BrenanMemorial Shield competion has now reached : ~an interesting stage, each rink having sustained one loss. The competition was advanced a further stage on Saturday, wheii Purdie’s team defeated Williams’. The game was a close and interesting one until the last head was reached, when with fine judgment and good fortune Purdie’s team ‘piled on seven.
The night bowling is still receiving a fair measure of support, and the night play buttons have provided an interesting competition. On Friday night T. L. Williams’ railway team challenged and defeated Cane's teani for tin buttons.
Weather permitting, an inter-club match with Te Aroha will be played at Paeroa on Saturday next.
