SALVATION ARMY.

A SOCIAL EVENING. FAREWELL TO CADET McDONALD. A farewell social was held in the Salvation Army Hall last Monday evening to Cadet S. McDonald, who is leaving Paeroa to enter the Salvation Army Training College in Wellington. This comrade has been a soldier of the Paeroa corps for the past nine or ten years, and has faithfully fulfilled the .duties of corps treasurer and Y.P.L, leader, offices which she has held for some considerable time.

During the evening a short programme was rendered, speeches being made by Bro. C. Malcolm and Bro. P. C. Gallagher. Both spoke of the faithfulness of Cadet McDonald, and wished her God’s richest blessing in her futui'e career, .

Captain Grice, on behalf of the comrades of the corps, then presented Cadet McDonald with a travelling rug and expressed the good wishes and prayers of all for the life of usefulness that lies before her. Cadet McDonald suitably replied to the speeches, etc., voicing her thanks to one and all for the good wishes conveyed.

Supper and games, enjoyed by those present, concluded a very happy evening.
