The Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) has returned to Paeroa after having spent the holidays at the Thames Coast.
Councillor W. Madgwick, of Turua, is reported to be suffering from a nervous breakdown. Under medical advice he is to give up public life. > Mr F. H. Pope, fire adjustor, Auckland, late manager of the Auckland branch of the State Fire Insurance Co., was in Paeroa this morning.
Mr and Mrs F. H. Mueller, of Auckland, who are making a motor tour of the provnice, were in Paeroa to-day renewing a number of old acquaintances. Some sixteen years ago Mr -Mueller was in partnership with Mr E. W. Porritt, solicitor, Paeroa, and prior to that was practicing in Waihi.
