VALEDICTORY
miss s. McDonald. At the conclusion of work for the year at Messrs Le Manquais, Lamb and Co.’s sash and door factory, Paeroa, yesterday, a presentation was made to Miss S. McDonald, who, after being a member of the clerical stall for the past eight years, has severed her connection with the firm to go to Wellington early in the New Year and enter the Salvation Army Training Depot. In handing Miss McDonald an ivorold brush, comb, and mirror, Mr C. T. Mettam, foreman of the factory, on behalf of the employees, expressed tlie genuine regret that was felt at losing Miss McDonald. He said that during her long association with the firm her obliging manner and pleasant disposition had won the respect and esteem of all with whom she had come in contact. Earnest good wishes were expressed for her future happiness and success in her new sphere. On behalf of the management Mr GP. Lamb presented Miss McDonald with a substantial cheque in recognition of long and faithful services cheerfully rendered.
