Having great faith in the future of the district, and in order to be able to keep ahead of its requirements, Messrs McKay and McKay, of Ngatea, are having a commodious new shop erected in a central par,t of the township, and hope by a special effort to have it open in all branches by Christmas. The shop will be one of the largest and best appointed on the Plains, and it is the intention of this enterprising firm to carry full stocks of groceries, hardware, drapery, footwear, crockery, glassware, confectionery, cakes, and toys. Since commencing business in Nga-

tca in May last as general grocers this firm has built up a reputation for fair > dealing, prompt service, quality supplies, and low prices, and with its re- . moval tq more suitable premises it will be able to offer a wider range of merchandise. Mr W. E. McKay has had long experience in this class of business, and being able to buy right will be able to sell right. A new departure for the firm while in Ngatea will be the provision of a hardware department, which branch will receive special attention. It is intended to carry a wide range of all farmers' and householders’ requirements in tiie way of ironmongery, implements. tools, utensils, sporting goods, benzine and oils, gramophones and records, Skeates and White’s bicycles, etc. " The drapery department will also be extended, and it is intended to carry such stocks that the widest selection maj’ be made. All the latest and best lines of footwear will be stocked. In a separate shop within the same building will be the confectionery department, where the utmost variety of loPies and chocolates will be on sale. Here it is also intended to open tearooms, where, in addition to morning and afternoon tea, such dleicacies as fruit sundaes, ice-cream, and cool soda fountain drinks may be had. Messrs McKay and McKay have been appointed agents for Stormont’s and Adam Bell’s famous block cake, of which they are already selling big quantities. Housewives need not worry about making a Christmas cake —McKay’s have them to suit all tastes and purses. While a big effort is being made to open the new store in all its branches by Christmas, an assurance is given that the toy department will certainly be open and that on Christmas Eve there will be a Christmas tree, and Santa Claus will be present. Messrs McKay and McKay extend to seasonable greetings and a cordial invitation to inspect their new shop. THE PEOPLE’S DRAPERY. MRS.
