MEETING OF PLAINS ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Hauralu- Plains Cricket Association was held at Pipi,roa on Monday evening, Mr G. Porteous presiding over the following delegates : Messrs F. Wallis; J. Porter, R. Green, H. L. Berney. A. E. Ludlow, and the secretary, Mr P. Clark. AFFILIATION. The chairman reported that notices of affiliation had been received fr.om Kopuarahi, Pipiroa, Waitakaruru, and Ngatea clubs. The Kaihere club had signified its intention ofi joining, but so far no notification had been received. Each club would enter one team. It was agreed to permit the Kaihere club to affiliate later. RULES.. The sub-committee set up for the purpose submitted draft rules for the association. These provided, intel alia, that all matches were to be onaday matches. Play should commence at 11 a.m., and stumps should be drawn at 3 p.m. Three points would be a varded for a completed match, two points for a win on the first innings, and one point, for a drawn game. Any ciub within the Hauraki Plains County shall be eligible for membership, and players frpm other associations must produce a clearance before being eligible to join. No player shall play for more than one club during any one season without a clearance being provided by the management committee. The third Monday in the month was fixed as the date of the association’s meetings. The rules as submitted were, after discussion, adopted by the association. fhe boundaries adopted for the Vaiious clubs were the existing boundaries of the school districts. OFFICERS. The wet weather committee appointed was: Messrs G. Porteous (Kopuarahi), J. Porter (Pipiroa), and H. L. Berney (Waitakaruru). It was decided that each club appoint two umpires for approval by the mana cement committee. Messrs J. G. Miller, R. Green, and H. L. Berney were appointed a selection committee for representative matches. CLUB MATCHES. The inter-club matches under the control of the association will commence on Saturday next, December 6, when Ngatea will play Waitakaruru at Waitakaruru and Kopuarahi play Kato ere at Kaihere. Pipiroa will have a bye. On December 13 Kopuarahi will travel to Ngatea and Pipiroa to Waitakaruru, and on December 20 Pipiroa will play at Ngatea and Kaihere at Waitakaruru. On December 27 Kaihere will travel to Pipiroa and Waitakaruru will play at Ngatea, while on January 3 Pipiroa will play at Kovuarahi and Ngatea will play at Kaihere. The second round will be the reverse. No representative matches will be played until the completion of the first rour>d.
