HAURAKI DRAINAGE.

MONTHLY BOARD MEETING. The regular meeting of the Hauraki Drainage Board was held at Turua an Friday last, Mr G. Gray presiding over Messrs D. G. McMillan, R. H. Heappey, J. Mules, R. H. Baker, and J. E. Green, the secretary. PEKAPEKA ROAD DRAIN. A letter was received from the county engineer advising that the spoil recovered when widening the PekaPeka roadside drain could be deposited on the roadside , o long as provision was made to allow surface water to run off the road, Mr Heappey was authorised to let a contract for the widening of the drain. TOWERS OUTLET. It was decided to ask the Lands Drainage Department- to contribute towards the cost of renewing a broken flood-gate in the Towers outlet, ais it was part of the work which the department had commenced. The Town Board was granted permission to have pipes laid in the. Jubilee and School outlets, the matter being left in the hands of Mr Mules. FOREMAN’S REPORT. The foreman, Mr J. McConnell, reported that the Wharepoa roadside drain had been completed and the fence re-erected. NEXT MEETING. It was decided to hold the next meeting on December 19. ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £l6 4s 7d were passed for payment.
