MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Hauraki A- and P. Association was held in Bain’s Building on Friday evening, the president, Mr W. J. Hall, presiding over an attendance of fifteen members. BAND MUSIC. The Federal Band, Waihi, wrote stating its inability to supply a programme of music on Peoples’ Day. The secretary reported that he had been unable to arrange with a band from Te Aroha to attend at Paeroa. General regret was expressed by the meeting that the services of a band could not be procured. CATERING. Several tenders were received for the catering rights on the ground on both days of the show. The tender of Mr Haynes, of the Tiffin Catering Co., Auckland, was accepted. ALLOCATION OF TROPHIES. The action of the president and secretary in their allocation of trophies for the various classes was approved. PADDOCKING. The matter of arranging paddock accommodation for stock was left in the hands of Messrs Eugene Shaw, N. Beattie, and the secretary, with power to act. Messis J. P. Findlay and W. J. Byrne were appointed to meet the visiting exhibitors on arrival of the trains on Tuesday. JERSEY BREEDERS’ OAKS. It was agreed to accede to the request of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club to make provision for a Jersey Breeders’ Oaks, and that a notification regarding the proposal to institute the Oaks in the district should be incorporated in the association’s catalogue. Mr B. E. Veale, president of the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Culb, thanked the members for the assistance given to the breeders, and said he believed that by the institution of the Oaks in the district the association could ) ( ook forward to a record number of entries in the Jersey classes in rhe future.
