HORAHIA DRAINAGE.
BOARD’S FIRST MEETING. The linst meeting of the Horahia Drainage Board was held' in the Kopuarahi School on Saturday afternoon, there being present: Messrs J. C. Miller, W. E. Hale, J. M. Thompson, R, L. Davies, J. McKerchar, and F. Kneebone. On the motion of Mr Davies, seconded by Mr Thompson, Mr W. MeDuff was appointed chairman. The appointment of a clerk and treasurer was considered in committee, and it was decided on the motion of Mr Hale, seconded by Mr Kneebone, that Mr W. E, G. Willy be appointed for one year. The Bank of New Zealand, Thames, was appointed the Board’s bankers, and the chairman and clerk were deputed to make the necessary arrangements. It was decided that for the time being the meetings of the board would be held at the residence of Mr F. Kneebone, Horahia, at 10.30 a.m. on the third Friday in every month. . The clerk was empowered to pui'chase the necessary stationery and to make inquiries concerning a typewriter An inspection of the whole of the land and works in the area is to be undertaken by the whole board in the next few days. The secretary was instructed to obtain a valuation roll from the Valuation Department and to communicate with Mr T. W. Rhodes, M.P., and ask him .to obtain all the information possible in connection with the Government grant of £2OOO.
